The Western Digital Passport reduced my 388 CD rack to a pocket-sized miracle. Similarly, all the photos, lesson plans, and PowerPoint presentations that are cluttering my computer are now in my passport. Here's the low down. I was a little worried that he might have difficulty creating this little guy. My fears were alleviated in about 15 seconds. About a month ago, I went from Vista to XP and had no problems with the installation of this product ... some (it seems that some people running Vista have had some problems). I could not have been easier. (Thank you Western Digital!) And yes, the product is bright, which shows fingerprints and can scratch easily. Amazon currently recommends the CaseLogic small external hard drive (Black), but the case is too big and passport remains confined too loose. Instead, I bought the neoprene lHDC CaseLogic-1 Portable Hard Drive (dark gray). (It is soft and protects the appearance of the product, while in transit). If someone finds a better fit, please feel free to comment on this post. Bottomline: Despite unwanted software pre-installed, This product has exceeded my expectations. It's quiet, small, and very surprising! It handles a huge volume of work fairly quickly (I was prepared for some delay of course) and it makes my life much tidier. Highly recommended!
